On the way down there are loads of interesting places to visit such as St. Giles Cathedral and the dwelling place of one of it's more widely known preachers John Knox. while just 200 yards further down the hill, away from the Sherwood,is Princes Street, home of the Scott Monument, and one of Scotland's premier shopping streets. The Sherwood guest house is in Edinburgh's Newington area which boasts numerous excellent restaurants, cafes, bars, lovely walks through residential areas to holyrood park, and great Edinburgh Accommodation.
